chris-mullinOn this day, NBC bid a total of $401,000,000 for the exclusive television rights to the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.  NBC bid wisely as the "Dream Team" fever spread through the United States on their path towards a gold medal.

Chris Mullin, his high fade and Size M basketball trousers - and the rest of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics - captured the best television ratings for a foreign Summer Olympics (i.e. outside of the Unites States), until the recent 2008 Olympics in Bejing, China.

Read: Phelps > Mullin.

We kid, we kid.  The Dream Team also had Christian Laettner.

Impress your co-workers: NBC had the 2008 Olympic broadcasting rights as well, which they paid a handsome $1.71 billion for.

Yeah, you'd probably have to put more restrictions on sport, time-period, etc. A more do-able list might be the list of least-white white guys. Jason Williams? Or does he just seem all the more white because of his attitude?

I actually dare you to whittle a list down to seven...I don't think it can be done. You might get away with a Top 10...but that's stretching it. I mean...can you even decide between Danny Ainge, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Greg Kite? That's four dudes from the same team...and you want a Top 7 all time?

OK, if your gonna do this list, then I hafta nominate John Stockton. Has to one of the whitest out there. Of course, I am in no way a basketball fan, so I could be wrong. His was just the first name that came to mind.

Damn, that's a tough one. Trying to pick out the white guys in hockey that are whiter than all the others. Good luck Major. Can we get a check on whether Mike Ricci and Geddy Lee are the same person?

Good point, Jive...however, some are certainly whiter than others. For instance, I don't think of Mike Ricci as white. He's some sort of a mouse.
Fresh Jive, December 1, 2009 12:12 PM
I think we probably have to exclude hockey from that list, db.

Top 7 suggestion; the whitest athletes of all time. Mullin HAS to be on that list.

Orlando Mercado

Mercado marched into the Mariners front office and immediately demanded a trade when team management informed him that they were denying his request to wear parachute pants as part of his uniform.
