Although we tired of the "Best Fans in Baseball" rhetoric in St. Louis a few hours after it was self-appointed during the Mark McGwire era, there are a few other honors we hold near and dear.

We're currently the industry leaders in mullets - and we're not far behind in mustaches and tattoos either.

However, in our recent fan hunting expeditions, we've discovered a growing trend amongst Cardinals fans that we'd like to document here and now - extreme hair that extends well beyond the realm of mullets.

We've done mullets, and Cardinals fans have collectively made the decision to move on.

Rat Tails.

My god...that second pic made me throw up in my mouth a little
Kilo, June 11, 2008 04:06 AM
Is JSF merch on the way finally!?!?!?!
Jeremy, June 11, 2008 03:06 AM
So when can we get our paws on a jsf hoodie?
Patrick, June 10, 2008 07:06 AM
Hoodies rule. Not really in summer weather - though I'd never be afraid to sport a JSF hoodie in 95 degree weather.

I like to get my tail braided while waiting for an oil change on my El Camino.

Has there ever been a sighting of a mullet/rat tail on a man in good physical shape? You only see these haircuts on the overweight or unhealthily skinny meth-head type. Of course, these pic also make Philly look great! You stay classy St. Louis!

Kelsey you're a weird dude if you sit around wondering how someone's nuts smell. Thats like weird and gay at the same time. Now that Master Splinter comment was funny.
bill belichick, June 10, 2008 05:06 AM
aint nothing wrong with hoodies.
Higgins, June 10, 2008 05:06 AM
Okay...so it's the same bandana'd guy in the first two pics, right? Has to be...my question-what's up with his buddy to his left? Are 'hoodies' still in vogue outside of the Greater Boston metopolitan area? Either is a major coincidence that Rat Fu sat next to two different people wearing hoodies...or it's the same guy that owns not one, but two hoodies...and that's just one shy of obsession. Oh, thanks Kelsey...I snapped a rib laughing at your post...now I can't breath. Much appreciated.

I think I notice a nice sweat stain on the back of the third guy. I'm willing to bet his nuts stink pretty bad.
Ryan B., June 10, 2008 03:06 AM
Is that first guy an Indian Chief?
bk, June 10, 2008 02:06 AM
Been working on those since the St. Louis Ambush days.
Jason, June 10, 2008 02:06 AM
My word - that second one is freaking gross.
DustinDiamond, June 10, 2008 01:06 AM
Ah, that brings back the memories, I too once was the proud owner of a 8 inch rat tail that had all the ladies oooohing and aaaahhing, take that Slater

Business in the front, party in the back.

Finally it is catching on.

Floyd Rayford

In 1988, the Baltimore Orioles were forced to revert to traditional uniform pants when the button on Floyd Rayford's elastic waist band rocketed into the crowd and injured three fans.
