The reigning Cy Young winner of the National League is the coverboy for MLB2K9 (in this morning's Tailgate, I mentioned it was EA Sports, I was wrong). Naturally, Lincecum is pretty excited about it.
"Winning the Cy Young Award is truly an amazing honor, and now having the opportunity to be on the cover of Major League Baseball 2K9 is another dream come true and an absolutely surreal experience. Whenever I'm hanging out at home or traveling on the road, you can find me playing video games, and I'm definitely the best gamer in the clubhouse by far. I'm incredibly stoked that 2K Sports picked me to represent Major League Baseball 2K9, and I look forward to lending my baseball knowledge to the development process."

It would be easy to scoff at the notion of a "dream come true" to be on the cover of a video game, but seriously, how awesome is that? I'd take it. Below you'll find Lincecum at the 2K9 capture studio.

Obviously, he's nowhere near as aggressive and entertaining as EA's Softball Guy, but then again, very few are.

The preceding was an attempt to re-post and plaster the heavily promoted JoeSportsFan Show in your face as part of JSF's "Operation TV-Raid".

Lincecum weighs about as much as Softball Guy's right thigh.

Gene Walter

Even after 25 years in the business, the Padres equipment manager found himself stunned by the size of the yellow pit stains Gene Walter left on his home jerseys.
