JoeSportsFan

Happy Friday there, kids.  As our gift to you, we present an author on very little sleep...as well as our standard weekly edition of "The JoeSportsFan Show".

We were pleased to have Patrick Imig back in studio this week - after recovering from what his Mommy described as "tummy ache".  The completion of the JoeSportsFan Trio meant an influx of "Saved By The Bell" and "Full House" references.

We chatted about the absurdity of the NFL Combine, did a little diddy about white guys singing about sports, and - of course - celebrated sports entertainment with our weekly "Wiffle Ball" round table.  Last week, Will Leitch, AJ Daulerio, and Dan Levy brought it strong.

This week, we were pleased to be joined by Dan Levy (OnTheDLPodcast.com), J.E. Skeets (Yahoo! Sports), and Don from Hugging Harold Reynolds.

Among the topics covered on this week on the critically-acclaimed segment of "Wiffle Ball"....

1.) Name the stupidest mascot in professional sports...
2.) Your favorite non-sports related Nintendo game...
3.) If you could hand the walking-papers to one ESPN employee, who would it be...?
4.) Name the movie you've seen the most times...
5.) Name your favorite coaching meltdown in recent memory...

We encourage you to subscribe to our weekly show through iTunes.  What that will do is immediately download our latest episodes to your computer, and associated iPod device (if you so desire).  Pretty neat.

You can - of course - find and listen to all episodes right here...but we promise, people will think you're much cooler if you know what "subscribing to a podcast" means.  Seriously.  If you've already subscribed - good for you.  Do us a favor and take a minute to drop us a review on our iTunes page.  We want to know what you think.  Unless, of course, you hate us.  Keep your feelings to yourself, dammit.

1.) Subscribe to our podcast by clicking here.

2.) Listen to the direct episode by clicking here.

3.) (UPDATE) Download the raw mp3 version of this episode here.

Very special treat for our readers today, as we debut the completely online version of “The JoeSportsFan Show.” No radio airwaves, no call-letters, no commercials, no local weirdos complaining that we’re not talking enough about Tony La Russa. We promise to keep the show homegrown, continuing to celebrate the absurdity of sports and striving to reference “Saved By The Bell” and crappy Nintendo sports games whenever possible. Keeping with the “homegrown” theme, the weekly show will feature the critically-acclaimed (by our Moms) “Wiffle Ball” segment, as fans of our weekly St. Louis radio show know and love. This online “round table” highlighting sports topics from the “obscure” to the “more obscure” will feature prominent sports bloggers from all over our dear nation. For the inaugural episode this week, we were tickled to be joined by some of the best in the biz; AJ Daulerio (Deadspin.com), Jamie Mottram (MisterIrrelevant.com) and Dan Steinberg (DC Sports Bog). This comment box doesn't like ampersands.

I don't think this thing wants me to type Dumb and Dumber. I think it has a problem with the ampersand sign. Let's test it. I love to listen to Mike

I would like to donate my extra "S" to Harold Reynold.

Huh? I didn't type "dumb" as my comment. I was just trying to give props to Sebek for putting Dumb
Jesse, February 27, 2009 02:02 PM

Rockabye - Raw mp3 of the episode has been included in the post now. Thanks for the suggestions. We'll make sure to post those from here on out.
Rockabye, February 27, 2009 12:02 PM
Could you possibly throw up an MP3 of the podcast? The iTunes-haters among us (who are still subscribers, because they love you THAT much) would appreciate it.
Sebek, February 27, 2009 12:02 PM
No worries, Tim. Here you go.http://feeds2.feedburner.com/joesportsfanshow

Any chance you could drop an RSS feed of just the podcast as an enclosure to listen to through an RSS reader instead of through iTunes? Here's an example of my podcast feed in that format: http://feeds2.feedburner.com/firesidechatsatmvnIf not, I'll still listen...but would be awesome if you would cater to my laziness ;)

Holy crap - Skeets loves him some RAD. I thought I liked it a lot. That movie rules.

Good Friday surprise. Can't wait.
