With the Cardinals having suffered a sweep in the three games following their team committment to shaved heads, leaders Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday have hired Hans Weiman to reverse the decision and instead restore each player to a full head of hair modeled after Tony LaRussa.
Holliday and Pujols have arrived at Thursday’s voluntary batting practice with their new looks on full display in an attempt to motivate teammates towards a September rally.
“Tony is the winningest manager in team history and he’s had the same long hair since he arrived with the Cardinals in 1996,” said Holliday. “We see that as the single most successful style that we can have.”
