Breaking Newz: Drastic Equipment Upgrade Considered for Theriot

Given last night’s recurring defensive issues from shortstop Ryan Theriot and the role his errors played in a frustrating but predictable loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tony LaRussa has taken extreme measures to prevent miscues up the middle from costing him another game.

Considering Theriot’s offense is marginally better than the player he replaced – Brendan Ryan – with his defense significantly worse, the team’s equipment manager was called in for some drastic upgrades in an effort to even the playing field.

While a formal inquiry has been submitted to the National League rules committee, early Monday morning, Theriot was seen at Busch getting familiar with his new equipment…

One can only allow so many balls to roll between their shortstop’s legs before the big guns are brought out.
