Undoubtedly, one of the most unusual personalized jerseys we’ve seen at Busch Stadium is pictured below.

Truthfully, we gave her the benefit of the doubt. After all, “Hooker” could be a real last name. Well, then we spotted her with this friend. And then this friend.

Classy stuff. We won’t be fooled again. But it just got a little harder.

On Monday afternoon, the following story came across our news feed.

That’s right.

The Cardinals actually have a player named, “Hooker”. He’s a RHP that pitches for the Cardinals Double-A affiliate in Springfield. And he was named the Texas League Player of the Week last week.

Deryk Hooker is listed as one of the Cardinals Top 5 pitching prospects by Scout.com. Zack Cox was the Cardinals first-round draft pick in 2010.

Those two creative some lethal sports headline potential. Local budding journalists will need to tread carefully in about five years.
