Lopez Brings New Dimension to Cardinals Facial Hair

With the signing of Felipe Lopez, the Cardinals have brought back a versatile switch hitting bat that hit .385/.426/.538 in 169 at bats with the team in 2008.  He followed that up with a season of .310/.383/.427 shared between the Diamondbacks and Brewers in 2009.  The signing takes some pressure off of the team going into the season with Brendan Ryan’s health status uncertain and nobody sure of what to expect from 27-year old rookie David Freese.

So amongst other things, the Cardinals latest addition brings some depth to the 2010 roster…  and by “other things” we mean that he adds some much needed “pencil beard” to the team.
