Like many teams around Major League Baseball on Sunday, the Cardinals embraced their softer-side by rocking pink equipment in an effort to increase breast cancer awareness on Mother’s Day.
Pink bats, pink wristbands, pink compression sleeves.
Similar to his ’11 performance on the field, Lance Berkman exceeded expectations by rocking pink shoes. Yes, pink shoes (in addition to pink batting gloves).
Pink Puma.
We always love when the Cardinals and the rest of MLB pull out the pink equipment. Sure, it doesn’t work in some cases (see: San Diego Padres; then again, camouflage never looks good on a baseball uniform). In most cases, it’s subtle, touching and appropriate.
Plus, we get to imagine a jealous Jim Edmonds sitting in front of his television screen, wishing he was the one wearing pink baseball shoes.
