Mizzou football coach, Gary Pinkel, was scheduled to throw out the first pitch at the Cardinals home opener in St. Louis on Monday afternoon. Pinkel led his Mizzou Tigers to a 12-2 season, and a victory over Arkansas in the AT&T Cotton Bowl.
However, due to rain across the nation, Pinkel's flight was delayed and the Cardinals quickly dialed up Mizzou Quarterback - and Heisman Trophy candidate - Chase Daniel.
Cool. We thought it worked out for the best - having the state's golden boy
throw out the first pitch at a special day in St. Louis.
But as you'll notice below, Chase didn't actually throw out the first "pitch". He threw out the first, um "pass". Chase toed the rubber, and launched a spiral towards his All-American wide receiver, Jeremy Maclin. The pass fell short and bounced past Maclin. Slightly embarrassing.

I suppose the only thing that would've made this event more ridiculous is Cardinals catcher, Yadier Molina, crotched down at home plate, trying to catch the football in his catcher mit.
