First it was Peyton getting over the hump by defeating brothers Ricky, Jr. and Danieal in Super Bowl XLI.
Then it was Eli slaying the undefeated Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
And now assistant coach of the Jayhawks Danny Manning has a brand new national championship ring after KU stormed back from a 9 point deficit in the final 140 seconds to beat the Memphis Caliparies - just days after Manning was inducted into the
National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame - and on the 20 year anniversary of his first national championship as a player.

Safe to say, the lights from above are shining bright down on the Mannings. And poor Cooper still gets nothing and has to like it. No player rings, no coaches rings, no endorsements or commercials - not even a loss in a championship game. Nothing.
And even though the free throw shooting eventually bit Memphis in the butt, I'll refrain from piling on John Calipari and the Tigers. But they should know that if there was a Tom Emanski for basketball, he'd be all over their asses right now.
And congrats to Tournament M.O.P. Sonya Curry. You looked great and impressed throughout.
