Barry Bonds carried on a decade-long affair with teen actress Mayim Bialik, star of the famed NBC show "Blossom".  The romance allegedly began when Bialik was a 15-year-old aspiring actress trying out in the back-lots of Hollywood and Bonds was a 26-year-old Pirates outfielder, playing in the last 2 years of his Pittsburgh contract as a married father of 2, several sources have told JoeSportsFan.com.

Vivid details of the affair could surface in several media projects that Bialik is involved with - including a documentary on Joey Lawrence that begins filming today in Los Angeles, a new "Best of Bialik" DVD and a reality show following the life of Bialik and Jenna Von Oy, actress who played the role of Six - Blossom's best friend.

Bialik, who lives in a run-down Christmas Tree box in a gated Los Angeles community, is attempting a career comeback following years of studies.

Contacted by JoeSportsFan.com Sunday through his spokesperson Pedro Gomez, Bonds confirmed a long-term relationship but denied that it was of a sexual nature.  Ted Wass, who played Blossom's father Nick Russo, doesn't remember it that way...  

"We'd be filming the finishing touches on another episode and Barry (Bonds) would be waiting off-stage, with batting gloves and elbow armor on.  We were very suspicious the two kept things non-sexual," said Wass.  "Any time he was on a West Coast road trip, we'd see him.  And then, of course, he was a San Francisco Giant for the last three years of our series.  We don't think it was a coincidence he chose to play in Frisco."

The sources asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the situation. Gomez said Sunday he had no knowledge of a sexual affair between the two.

Joey Lawrence, who worked with and traveled with Bialik extensively during the show's run on NBC, has confirmed that he saw Bonds and Bialik together on many occasions, including at Bonds' house near CandleStick Park.  Lawrence claims Bonds talked to Bialik often.  "WHOA!", he recalled.

Even with the insights of Wass and Lawrence, the name or names of the main source(s) who leaked the story cannot be revealed for safety and journalistic reasons.  Bonds is scheduled to address the situation at a later date, during what some are deeming "a very special Blossom."
