As displayed by Debbie Phelps and Valeri Luikin, parents have been an integral part in the marketing of the young 2008 American Olympians.  Because of their raw emotion and expression, the NBC cameras have been wise to capture parents such as Debbie and Valeri before, during, and after their respective child's performances.

However, not all parents have the clean cut, wholesome image that is desired by the mainstream media.

Case in point: Benny Kai, father of United States female soccer player, Natasha Kai.

Um...riiiiight.  Truth be told, we don't blame NBC.  It's a bit frightening.  Our storied fan hunters report that they've never witnessed simulated fan fangs - especially ones that actually include paint in the subject's mouth.  They also wanted to note that the *extreme* close up of this guy's nose hair is scarier than the paint fangs, psychotic eyes, and pen weapon combined.

Some additional research led us to some additional pictures of the Kai empire - which hails from Hawaii. Wild, wild, stuff.

Okay, the obvious has already been pointed out so I'll leave it alone. However, no one has brought up 1) that totally cheese ball hat in the first picture...not only does it promote a local TV station...it doesn't fit over his pom pom blue wig...which is point (2)...he's wearing a shiny blue pom pom wig.

Bic Pen......You are correct. My apologies. I must have had a brain fart there. I guess the most memorable scene to me from that movie is when they have that guy's head in a vice, and his eye pops out. Brutal.
Bic Pen, August 20, 2008 02:08 AM
That was "Casino" with the pen, not "Goodfellas". People never fully appreciated my role in that movie.
The Joker, August 19, 2008 08:08 AM
Pens are a good weapon. I prefer pencils, though.
kegler804, August 19, 2008 08:08 AM
Sebek, have you ever seen "Goodfellas"? The pen as a weapon is a page right out of Joe Pesci's playbook. If you haven't, I would highly recommend renting it. Some brutal stuff in there. But I will agree, the face paint takes it up a notch or three.

That guy looks like a bad Ricky Steamboat character. Like if the WWF would have made a storyline where he fought Sgt Slaughter during the first gulf war.
Kamala, August 19, 2008 06:08 AM
Those parents are scary.
Sebek, August 19, 2008 05:08 AM
Man, I can't get over the pen weapon. Frightening. Anyone can kill with a knife, or gun. That guy looks like he would stab you in the head with a pen until your face looked like spaghetti.
kegler804, August 19, 2008 05:08 AM
To JSF staff..........nice editing job on good ol' Rog there. But, I think it would be more accurate to substitute "SPAM sandwiches", instead of Bologna, given their cultures well documented love of the canned meat product. Just a thought.
JB, August 19, 2008 05:08 AM
That first picture could easily be mistaken as a ransom photo. Dude steals a kid, send parents a picture of said kid with forced face paint standing next to a man who has drawn fangs on his American flag face. Just tell me how much I need to pay, bro.
JS, August 19, 2008 04:08 AM
Shouldn't all JSF soccer related items be accompanied by a mandatory photo of a Brazillian babe in the stands?
kegler804, August 19, 2008 04:08 AM
I agree with Jason............there is a "creepy" factor there. And Roger.......fall off the meds again?
Roger, August 19, 2008 04:08 AM
Hawaiins are bologna sandwiches who mask their homo tendencies with outward bravado. I say f..k them and their peanut butter ways!
Jason, August 19, 2008 03:08 AM
For some reason, I find the gymnastic parents to be just a little bit creepy. Maybe that's inaccurate to assume, but there's something really strange about gymnastics and the older men that are in their lives.
Special Ed, August 19, 2008 02:08 AM
I'm going to Hawaii yay! I'm going to Hawaii! Yaaaaaaay!
Gregory, August 19, 2008 02:08 AM
Man, that guy is scary. I feel like he could kill me through the internet.
JC, August 18, 2008 06:08 PM
mmm nice. i wonder if she's down with me leaving a milky map of the Hawaiian islands on her back. *oh snaaaaaap*
Patrick, August 18, 2008 05:08 PM
Agreed.
Jason, August 18, 2008 04:08 PM
That girl looks like she'd be pretty fun.

Mike Squires

Squires often wondered if he was the only White Sox player who felt that it was weird that the team wore blue coveralls as uniform.
