When the Arizona Diamondbacks made their final out in a 12-3 loss to St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers officially clinched their first National League West division title since 2004.

After their night game against San Diego later that day, the Dodgers celebrated on-field with the Los Angeles faithful.  Unfortunately, the Dodgers' scoreboard operators got a little *premature* in their observation of the miraculous event.  The fans of Chicago might have something to say about the Dodgers proclaiming themselves as "National League Champions"...as opposed to "National League WEST Champions".

(Hat tip, Fungoes.net, for the photo)

If ESPN were to notice this mishap, they probably would have recapped it by saying, "that's just L.A. being L.A.".

It's never to early to start a celebration Matt.

Paul Mirabella

It would be an understatement to say that Paul Mirabella was unhappy with the limited selection of combs offered by the Fleer photographer.
