When the WWE was still the WWF and surged financially and creatively in the late 90s, one of the elements that helped drive ratings to casual and non-fans alike was "shock value" television.  Part of that was having a diverse cast of wrestlers.  Beyond main eventers such as Stone Cold, Undertaker, the Rock and Mankind, you had a porn star named Val Venis, a group of black supremacists in the Nation of Domination and even a few goth wrestlers who caroused with the Undertaker when Taker was feeling 'evil', who performed under the moniker "the Brood".

porndirector.jpgThe Brood's leader was Gangrel, formerly known as Vampire Warrior in other promotions.  He kept the vampire gimmick in the WWF and became fairly popular thanks to his entrance act of rising up  through a circle of flames at the edge of the entrance ramp.  He also carried a chalice of blood and forcefully spat it at the top of the "steel steps" at the corner of the ring.

You know what?  Screw it.  I'm done with the history lesson.

Gangrel, the vampire warrior, is now involved in the porn industry.  He made a recent appearance at the adult film awards in Las Vegas (think Espys for bisexual fake-breasted people) and as it turns out, he's been involved in the industry for a few months:
The New Porn Order has signed Former WWE wrestler Gangrel to a 12 movie exclusive directing deal. Gangrel, now officially known as The Vampire Warrior, will make his directorial debut with "Miami Rump Shakerz 2" set to be released in November. In addition to directing, he will also be making appearances as part of the NPO team.  "I am thrilled to be joining the New Porn Order and taking this step into a new level of my career. Directing offers a new challenge that I am very excited to be taking on. I look forward to the many great films that will come from this union." said The Vampire Warrior.

npo.jpgYes, yes, yes.  The porn industry copied wrestling by creating The New Porn Order, a presumed spin-off of WCW's New World Order, or N.W.O. - the faction that more or less made Ted Turner's WCW the top wrestling promotion for a 2 year span.  Thankfully, the NPO isn't comprised of Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Leather Tits Hulk Hogan (at least to my knowledge... I've yet to watch any NPO films).
"We are very happy to have The Vampire Warrior Gangrel as part of the NPO team. We are confident that he will add a certain edge and uniqueness to films, and will quickly rise to the top of the most sought after directors" said Craig Valentine of the NPO. 'The Vampire Warrior Gangrel' will make his debut appearance as part of the NPO at the AEE/AVN Awards Show in Las Vegas, January 2008.

So there you have it, friends.  When all else fails and your career as wrestling vampire ceases, start making homemade movies.  If Val Venis did for show in the WWE, you can certainly do it for money in real life.  And it could be worse for Gangrel - he could have started a comic book and ended the series by forcing Santa in to bondage similar to JSF legend the Ultimate Warrior

Let's see: "Ultimate Warrior", "Vampire Warrior"... ... that just leaves the Road Warriors (one of whom is dead), the Golden State Warriors, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors  and Xena: Warrior Princess as the only sane warriors left in the 'sports' world.  If I hear any time soon that Warriors head coach Don Nelson is venturing into comic books or movies, I'm getting the hell out of here.

I just hope Gangrel (created by White Wolf) isn't going to be doing any gonzo work.
