If you look at the average attendance at a KC Royals game, you can't help but assume that the people of the greater Kansas City area just flat out don't give a crap about their baseball team.

In 2007, they averaged 19,961 people at their 81 home games, worst of any team outside of Florida. And KC doesn't have nearly the same good excuses that Florida has like... you could either go to a Rays game or lay by the ocean oogling hot chicks behind your sunglasses.

Trust us, wearing sunglasses and oogling chicks in Kansas City isn't that cool.

But just because the masses in KC are uninterested in going to see their perennially horrific team, doesn't mean that there aren't a handful of serious, hard core Royals fans out there. And say what you will about their fan base as a whole, but you've got to respect the fan who will drive 250 miles east to watch his last place team while dressed up like...Royals 3B Alex Gordon, complete with glove and three-quarter sleeve undershirt...

We mean, like really dressed up like Alex Gordon...

As in, he can pinch run if need be...

Hey, you absolutely never know when Trey Hillman is going to run out of players and look to the stands for some support. Gotta be ready.

This poster boy got laid last night bro!
Gellman, July 1, 2008 09:07 AM
No authentic jersey? For shame.
Wang Putz Johnson, June 24, 2008 02:06 PM
This guy is the poster boy for not getting laid.
Rocky Mtn Highball, June 24, 2008 11:06 AM
I think this same guy routinely shows up at the area softball complex hoping to hook on with some team who needs a "ringer"...maybe he figured the Royals suck so bad that they might ask him to play?!!
Erik, June 24, 2008 11:06 AM
Maybe that guy should always show up, then we can sweep the Cardinals in St. Louis every year...
Ray Consella, June 24, 2008 11:06 AM
You're right Sean...that 2nd picture looks like he staring at the sky and having this inner dialogue: "Is this heaven"? "No son, it's Missouri." "I could've sworn it was heaven."..."Hey disemodied voice, wanna have a catch?"
Bill, June 24, 2008 08:06 AM
I get soooo turned on when my buddy Hench wears his David Ortiz uniform to games.
How do you spell retard?, June 24, 2008 07:06 AM
I can't wait 'til they start doing this for hockey. Taking a plate of nachos and a beer up 10 flights of steps with gloves and skates on. Over/under on how much that douchebag spent on his baseball outfit? I'll set it at $500.
Leslie, June 24, 2008 06:06 AM
I'm not sure about you boys but this guy could steal home with me anyday! ;)
Bossman Junior, June 24, 2008 05:06 AM
Wearing rubber cleats ruins the entire outfit.
Sean, June 24, 2008 04:06 AM
The 2nd picture reminds me of Costner's dad in Field of Dreams...like he doesn't know what's going on or how he got there...

Okay, if you're going to take the time to wear your baseball pants right (as knickers), then wear stirrups, not stockings. Incidentally, when did baseball uniforms get baggy? I'm not complaining, but everybody these days wears their shirt and pants a la Delaino DeShields circa 1994.

That, quite obviously, isn't the real Alex Gordon. I see a neck in these pictures.
alex gordon, June 24, 2008 04:06 AM
That was me. I couldn't find the players entrance
Sebek, June 24, 2008 03:06 AM
What are the odds he's wearing a jock with associated cup? I'm putting the over-under at 75 percent.
Jason, June 24, 2008 03:06 AM
Man, those cleats are clean. Well polished.
kegler804, June 24, 2008 03:06 AM
Hey....go easy on this guy now! Maybe that really was Alex Gordon. It coulda been the Alex Gordon from a parallel universe, who got caught in some rift in the space-time continum. Maybe he went to bed in his hotel one night, and woke up to find himself standing outside the gates of Busch Stadium the next day, and was not only confused as all hell, but really pissed, because in his universe, the Royals are a really good team, and have been for like 25 years! I say, cut the guy some slack.
Alex Gordon, June 24, 2008 03:06 AM
I didn't see any of the 'best fans in baseball' wearing cleats!!
Alex Gordon, June 24, 2008 03:06 AM
I got a little winded going first to third the other night and that guy actually played the 6th and 7th innings for me. No one knew. Started a sweet 5-4-3 that got Bannister out of wicked jam. That guy is OK in my book.
Bizzle from Belton, June 24, 2008 02:06 AM
Can you say Special Olympics?
bk, June 24, 2008 01:06 AM
Raider Fan : Football : : Royals Fan : Baseball i.e. Nothing to be proud of, but enthusiastic, if off the mark.
Patrick, June 24, 2008 01:06 AM
I love that the little kid is staring at Gordon in the first fan pic with a confused look.
J C, June 23, 2008 04:06 PM
Are we sure this isn't a 12 year old kid who just came from his Pony League game?? I bet he stayed up REAL late last night trying to figure out the cool way to tuck his pants under his socks. What a douche.

Rance Mulliniks

On June 13, 1986, Rance Mulliniks was ejected from the game after tackling the home plate umpire who had mistakenly called him "Lance" when he stepped up to bat.
