Re: Patriots mock a Quasi-Retard
lightsoffSo I’m 4 days late on this topic, but I’m still a little confused as to why the Patriots’ mocking of a steroid injecting cheater who acts like a douchebag is a big deal.  Perhaps New England crossed the line by “disrespecting” the Chargers and their logo at midfield, but the mocking of Merriman was perfectly acceptable and quite entertaining.

When you get caught for cheating, then get into a verbal spat with a non-cheater about defensive player of the year and promote the selling of your quasi-retarded nickname, you deserve whatever you get.  It’s kind of like when Terrell Owens mocked Ray Lewis and his stupid dance two years ago.  Sure, Owens may be well, we’re not really sure what he is, but his fake Lewis dance was by far the best thing he’s ever done.

Re: Brewers convince pitcher worth is diminished because he plays for Brewers
capuano_chris060510Maybe I’m biased because Chris Capuano is a lefthander in the NL Central and my hometown Cardinals completely suck against lefthanded pitching, but in today’s market, how is it that Capuano signs a 1 year deal with Milwaukee for a “mere” $3.25 million?

Capuano was an All Star last year and had 18 wins in 2005.  He struggled in the second half of ’06, but still finished with a ‘respectable’ 11-12 win/loss mark and a 4.03 ERA.  Not only that but the guy has been a horse the past 2 seasons, racking up 440 innings and striking out 350 (his 2 season stats are eerily similar: in ’05 he had 176 K and 219 IP and ’06 he had 174 K and 221 IP.

In a year when Gil Meche signs a $55 million contract, it’s hard to fathom how Capuano is limited to $3.25.

Re: Michael Vick smokes dope?  No way, Jose
dopeVick was stopped at Miami Airport with a water bottle containing a substance “closely associated with Marijuana”

Um… was it Fritos?  Jack’s Pizza?  Nachos Bel Grande?  HI-C Ecto Cooler?

So he was leaving Miami and had some dope on him.  Gee, wonder if he was visiting brother Marcus.  Or maybe he was interviewing for the Dolphins job.  That seems to be vogue these days.

Re: Steelers, Grimm have intimate relations
russgrimmCall me crazy (go ahead, I’ll wait), but what the hell is taking so long for the Steelers to decide on Russ Grimm to be their head coach?  They’ve met 2 separate times, including one 6 hour session yesterday.  Did they not get to know each other enough  during the 6 years Grimm served as a member of Bill Cowher’s coaching staff.

”So, you’re Russ Grimm.  And you played offensive line for the Redskins and the Steelers.  You know, it’s funny because I run the operations for the Steelers and not only did you play for them, but it says here you coached them too!  Okay, um, yeah, um, I have no idea how to carry out these negotiations because we never need to negotiate with new potential head coaches so um, uh, yeah.

You wanna play Sudoku?”
