The end is not near. It is here.
Last Thursday marked the end of an era in crappy television as The OC ended its illustrious 5 year career on February 22, 2007. When asked about parting ways with the FOX network, OC director/creator, Josh Schwartz, claimed that "it was a tragic end to a roller coaster of emotions". Later, in the same interview, Schwartz added "quite frankly, we ran out of kids that could sleep together. After we started throwing teenagers in bed with their friends' parents, we had officially hit the wall".
Today, at JSF, we don't trounce in the demise of the great OC - we celebrate its retaining qualities of nonsense.
More importantly, we enjoy imagining the same Californian absurdity 2,000 miles away in Bristol, Connecticut. Sean Salisbury stealing lunch money. Irvin busted for weed in his locker. A love triangle between Stuart Scott, Chris Berman, and Linda Cohn.
It's all business as usual at The SC.
Ron Jaworski finally comes clean with his obsession of analyzing Peyton Manning's control over the center. Meanwhile, Sean Salisbury is put under the red lights of the Budweiser Hot Seat for his latest pee-pee incident. Plus, the Pro Bowl ad campaign.
Neil Everett displays his affinity for yelling uncontrollably, a new interview segment debuts, and chaos strikes the SC. Plus, the fine folks at the WorldWide Leader want to be sure to hammer home the Heisman Trophy Presentation's importance.
Sure there were better shortstops than him, but Angel Salazar was able to take the field every night of his Major League career confident that no one had a better perm.
