It was a beautiful spring evening in the peaceful college town of Columbia, MO. The “And-1 Mix Tape Stars” arrived for a fan-friendly exhibition against some Missouri Tiger and area high school alumni, aptly titled “Columbia All Stars”. The event was part of And-1’s Killa Krossova Tour (note the blatant misspelling as a tribute to the Tru Warier, Ron Artest).
All is going well until, oh, about the early part of the first quarter, when the Columbia All Stars reveal they’re playing to win. They’d have none of that Washington Generals crap.
The local team started playing the And-1 streetball game as well as the And-1 players... The And-1 players didn’t seem to enjoy being upstaged, nor did they appear all that crazy about the intensity with which the local side was playing.
So we’ve established our motive… … …
That was especially true of (Jason) Sutherland, who made a career out of playing all-out, all the time... Sutherland always had a way of antagonizing the opposition and last night former Georgetown player Kenny Brunner, the player known as "Bad Santa," became the most recent person to let him under his skin.
Tensions started to rise when Sutherland fouled Brunner on a drive to the hoop with maybe eight minutes left in the first quarter. When Sutherland jumped to release a 3-pointer from the wing with more than four minutes left in the first quarter, Brunner went Steve Atwater, running through him like the great Broncos safety used to run through unsuspecting receivers. Brunner drove him into the first row of the stands. Teammates from both sides rushed to their defense, and before anyone could dissect what happened, a brawl had ensued. It took maybe a half dozen police officers to quell the fighting.

After the fracas ceased, the game went on and we fast forward to 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter...
The And-1 emcee, upset with the way the officials were calling a still-too-close-to-call contest, stopped the game to complain, even though his team owned a five-point lead. He spent about five minutes arguing at mid-court, and during that idle time, a fight broke out between two girls in the stands across the way, bringing an end to a night much uglier than it needed to be.
See what happens when people are influenced by Ron Artest? Not only do they blatantly misspel words, they also cause fights in the stands. Next thing you know And-1 and Jason Sutherland will starve their puppies. (Sorry; that was lame.)
David Stern has yet to publicly comment on the matter, by the way.

Without fail, the first thing Warren Brusstar did when the Phillies arrived in a new city was spend his entire per diem dressing up and getting "Old Time Photos" taken.
