April 2010
The month of April brought us two very notable events in the St. Louis sports year. The start of baseball and the start of Sam Bradford’s career as a member of the St. Louis Rams.
Okay fine, Opening Day was actually on March 31st this year, but whatever. We’re putting it in April since baseball has no business being played in March. Cardinals fans are more delightful when they can rip off their shirts and expose giant back tats.
Nevertheless, it was the start of baseball season. A disappointing one, but baseball is baseball in St. Louis. And by “baseball is baseball”, we mean, “All the mullets and fanny packs you can handle, brah.”
And, as previously mentioned, April saw the beginning of the Sam Bradford era in St. Louis. Marc Bulger went, well, somewhere else and the Rams found themselves a new quarterback with curly locks and a grin from ear-to-ear.
St. Louis fans showed up Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the opportunity to be the first to use a snappy Sam Bradford pun.
The local media would not be outdone.
Oh, of course not.
