Did the ’11 Cardinals help Twitter prepare for the Bin Laden news?

Like many people around the globe, I found about Bin Laden’s death via Twitter on Sunday night.  The news spread like wildfire; beginning in the early evening, continued throughout The President’s press conference and persisted well into Monday morning.

It was a true stress test for Twitter, who handled the traffic load enviably.  So much, in fact, that Twitter released the following infographic on Monday afternoon – showing their traffic peeks from Sunday night.

Some pretty significant action, there.

But Twitter was ready.

Why?

The graph above illustrates the Twitter action from Cardinals fans before, during and after every Ryan Franklin appearance in 2011.
