As we long for another season of Cardinals baseball, we promise to touch base (+2 blogging points for baseball pun) frequently with two hallmarks in American cinematic history.

“Heck of a Year” (1985) and “That’s a Winner“(1987). Physically and emotionally, both Cardinals videos share a fairly large spot in my heart. Physically, since they were released on VHS…and emotionally since I wasted approximately 34.7% of my childhood reenacting scenes in my backyard.

As Josh Bacott told you on Monday, Dorrel Norman Herzog celebrates his 79th birthday this week. Thus, we check in with “That’s a Winner” and one particular fan sign that caught our eye – primarily because they’re no chance in hell something like this would survive in today’s over-politically-correct society.
