For whatever reason, young players that have come through the Cardinals organization have helped to define new uniform trends on the Big League club.  Over the past few seasons, we’ve seen a tremendous amount of stirrups and flat-billed hats come up from Memphis.

While some players adopted and abandoned the trend numerous times throughout their tenure, mainstays like Anthony Reyes, Brendan Ryan, Rick Ankiel helped to define new aesthetics in the Cardinals club house.

We don’t understand the flat-billed hat trend.  It’s silly and looks terrible.  The same is not true for stirrups – especially when they’re real and not those fake, attached-to-the-sock things.  Oh, the real ones are just magnificent.  On players…and on fans.

This is a trend we can used to.
